Marin Dimeski

creative photographer
Professional photographer. Born in Prilep, Macedonia. Graduated in History of Art from Sv. Kiril i Metodij University in Skopje. Has actively pursued photography since 1970.

Dimeski has contributed a number of photographs to important Macedonian magazines and newspapers. From 1975 onwards he headed the Photo and Film Department of the Museum of the City of Skopje. He worked as the photo editor and designed front pages for Republika, the first Macedonian independent newspaper, as well as the Delo and Puls weeklies.
​
He has published several books of photographs (including Birth of a Painting in Kiro Urdin’s Studio, Paris, 1996; Planetarium, Neways Electronics International N.V., Amsterdam, 1997), and contributed photos to a number of monographs, publications and catalogs dealing with Macedonian cultural heritage.
​
Dimeski has participated in numerous photographic events and exhibitions in the country and abroad. His works are included in the permanent exhibit of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Skopje, and in various publications of the Museum of Contemporary Art, National Gallery and Museum of the City of Skopje, as well as in the History of Macedonian Photography, a study published by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

He is a member of the Artists’ Association of Macedonia (DLUM), Applied Artists’ Association of Croatia (ULUPUH) and the Croatian Artists’ Association of Istria (HDLU).

He has taken part in a large number of group shows and displayed his work in ten solo exhibitions. In recent years he has focused on independent projects and has shot photos in France (Paris, Mont Saint Michel), Germany (Berlin, Cologne), Poland, United Kingdom (London, Stonehenge), Italy (Rome, Pisa, Pompey), Thailand, China, Taiwan, Japan, United States (New York), Egypt, Israel, and Kenya (Mombasa, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo West, Tsavo East, Shimba Hills).
